Butterfly pea flower tea, commonly known as blue tea, is a caffeine-free herbal tea, or tisane, beverage made from a decoction or infusion of the flower petals or whole flower of the Clitoria ternatea plant. Serving Suggestions:
Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-3 teaspoonfuls of the dried herb and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes. Strain. Add honey to taste and enjoy. The color will turn from blue to purple when you add some lemon juice to it.
Precaution: Currently, there’s no research on the side effects of butterfly pea flower tea. Some people report having diarrhea, stomach cramps, or nausea after drinking the tea but this might depend on how much you consume.
